A vida que queremos / The life we want

EDIT 11JUN12 - Graça Paz's reply here

Do you live the life you want or that you deserve? No. Do you work on it? I don't think so (I know what I'm talking about). The life you want may be difficult to define, but it's not difficult to understand what makes us happy, what fills our days. And in those small nothings you can find the beggining of making your days better. Even if its only for half and hour.

I've found someone that works on making her life better every day and that, even in the difficulties, still manages to lead the life she wants. I'm not talking about lack of discipline, quite the opposite, as living the way you want takes a lot of discipline. She manages to find ways that help her to fill her days, getting to the end of the day and feel happy about what we did and accomplished. And the life you want doesn't have to be difficult. You just have to find what makes you happy.

I'm talking about Graça Paz, someone whose blog I started reading daily. Graça is a painter, works on her garden, teaches paiting workshops that fill her soul, does what she wants. Maybe she also does what she doesn't want, as life isn't only about the good things. I'm not saying Graça has a good life - but surelly has the life she wants. And she writes about it on her blog, with posts filled with wisdom and has no problem in sharing. I think that sharing makes her feel her life is better. Maybe because she lifes the life she wants and wants the ones around her to know how to do it. And - lousy cliché time - if we lived the life we wanted, the world would surelly be a better place.

A small note to my foreign readers: Graça's blog is written in Portuguese, but just try to translate it. I know the translation tools around aren't the best, but surelly the magic of her words and wisdon will not be lost!

  2. Adorei o post, Ana!
